There
are three 2nd Grade classes at St. Margaret Mary.
Each class
may contain up to 28 students.

The
reading curriculum expands
basic reading into higher levels.

The
religion curriculum emphasizes sacraments, in
preparation for receiving the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation,
which is usually handled through the school.

The math curriculum expands to 3-digit
addition and subtraction, continues with concepts of measurement, money,
and time, and introduces fractions and multiplication.

Students eat lunch at the main
cafeteria with the 3rd grade, and have one outside recess after
lunch.

Students attend
school masses and - about once a month - mass in the St. Margaret Mary chapel.

Students participate in all
exploratory classes: computer, library,
PE, prayer music, and Spanish. These are graded Satisfactory
(S) / Needs improvement (N) all year.

Students
receive letter grades in math, reading, and religion. Science and
social studies
are graded S/N.

Conduct is
graded on a scale of E (Excellent), S (Satisfactory), N (Needs
improvement), U (Unsatisfactory).

Students
take the Stanford
Achievement Tests (SAT) in April.
