Dorothy grew up in Slidell, Louisiana. Attending Catholic schools during childhood, she went to Our Lady of Lourdes for elementary school and St. Scholastica Academy for high school. She earned a Bachelor of Interior Design degree from Louisiana State University and a teacher certificate for Secondary English from the University of New Orleans. She has been teaching at St. Margaret Mary for ten years and thoroughly enjoys the students, the Catholic environment, and the other faculty members. She especially likes teaching language arts because she can get to know the students through their writing, help them develop into better writers and speakers, and teach them to analyze and enjoy literature.
